Cropping systems research at the West Central Research, Extension and Education Center covers a variety of projects that include nutrient dynamics, nutrient management, the influence of crop sequence and water availability, nutrient dynamics impact on yield, and quality of seed and grain. The long term goals of the cropping systems research team include ensuring the economic and environmental viability of irrigated and rain-fed cropping systems with limited water in west central Nebraska. The cropping systems lab conducts research at the West Central Water Lab, the Stumpf International Wheat Center and the West Central Research, Extension and Education Center.
